Public BBQ

A well-kept campground in the Flinders Peak country south of Ipswich, gated with a security code issued on booking, and set up for groups of any size, including riders, with horse trails, a holding yard and a water trough, and float parking outside the grounds. Sites are well spread out and quiet, each with its own table, and there is a large undercover area with a barbecue and tables for a gathering. Walking trails range from the 560-metre Chalk Circuit to the longer Gamlen Circuit and Goolman Lookout, all easy to moderate but wanting enclosed shoes. A small dam and open fields sit alongside. The toilets are the weak point: two unisex vault toilets whose flush pump has been found dry, and which have been overrun with insects. Showers are cold and you bring your own water.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Ipswich council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with Ipswich council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
